At a distance of 4 km from Vizag Railway Station, Ramakrishna Beach (also called RK Beach) is a spectacular long beach on Bay of Bengal. This is one of the most popular beaches in Visakhapatnam and gets its name from the Ramakrishna Mission ashram across the Beach Road from the park. Ramakrishna Beach is one of the prime attractions of Vizag city. RK beach is famous for family outings and it attracts large number of visitors. The beach is perfect for catching mesmerizing sunrises. While the Rama Krishna Beach is not safe for swimming, there are many attractions and activities to keep visitors busy. Offering various kinds of water activities to the travellers, the beach is popular for sunbathing, beach volleyball and wind as well as water surfing. Deep sea angling is another prominent activity, which is carried on traditional fishing boats. Andhra Pradesh Tourism offers boating from fishing harbour here. Visakha Utsav, the annual festival of the district always gives a greater importance to the RK Beach. Andhra University conducts special research projects at the beach to save the Sea Tortoises during their breeding seasons.

Spread over an area of 350 acres, it is one of the most attractive tourist spots in Vizag with an enchanting view of the sea, beaches, lush green forests and the beautiful city. The major attraction of the park is Lord Shiva Parvathi statue. At the base of Lord Shiva's statue, there is a stream that flows all the way to the foot of the hill. The hilltop also has many wonderful attractions like the Titanic viewpoint, floral clock, Shanku-Chakra Namas of Lord Venkateswara, Gliding point, Jungle Trails, Manicured lawns, Art gallery & Children Park. The floral clock on Kailasagiri is one of the biggest in India with a diameter of 10 ft. A number of amazing viewpoints are developed all around the hilltop. One more major attraction is the toy train operated on top of the hill which takes a circular tour of the garden on the hill top. Kailasagiri is a favourite location among the filmmakers all over India. It is one of the prominent hill top parks with panoramic sea view on the East Coast. The park was developed by Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA). The hilltop is well connected by road, walk and ropeway. Two stairways are provided for pedestrians. The ropeway from bottom of the hill to Kailasagiri is a special attraction.

Rishikonda Beach is frequented by tourists as it is one of the best beaches in Andhra Pradesh. The beautiful beach is situated 8 km from Vizag. If you love water sports, you will love this beach. The Submarine Museum - Kurusura being set up at the RamaKrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam has a specialty which is the first one of its kind in this subcontinent. INS Kusura is a Russian built submarine. It was built on Dec 18th 1969 and began its journey on Feb 20, 1970 via the Baltic Sea and reached Visakhapatnam on the 11th of May, 1970. Since then INS Kusura was being used by the Indian Defence. The Navy developed it as a War-Memorial with a project cost of Rs.5.5 Crores. The length of Submarine is 91.3 Mtrs. while the breadth is 8.00 mtrs. This is the first of its kind in Asia and second in the world. There are display boards giving all the details of the submarine and life inside submarine. A submarine can stay inside water for maximum period of 48 hours and return to surface to recharge its batteries. While inside the water it operates by the electric batteries only. This submarine museum located in the beach road is one of the main tourist spots of Visakhapatnam

At a distance of 18 km from Vizag Railway Station Simhadri or Simhachalam is a Hindu temple located in the Visakhapatnam City suburb of Simhachalam in Andhra Pradesh. This 11th century temple is dedicated to Sri Varaha Narasimha Swamy, an incarnation of Vishnu and situated on top of the Simhachalam Hills. The temple is believed to have been constructed in 1098 by the famous Chola king, Kulothunga Chola. The queen of Kalinga gifted golden armor to the statue. The Eastern Ganga King Narasimha Deva has constructed the central shrine in 1267. Krishna Deva Raya, the Vijayanagara Emperor visited this temple in the year 1516, as seen from inscriptions here. The temple activities are managed by the Pusapati Gajapatis, for last three centuries. The architectural of the central shrine follows Kalinga style. Facing towards west, it is a square shrine surmounted by a high tower, a portico in front with a small tower, a carved 16 pillared Natya mantapa. The shrine has inscriptions dating back to 1098 AD on its walls. The deity is always kept covered with sandal paste. The actual form of the deity is in the tribhanga posture with two hands & head of a lion, which can be viewed only during the 'Chandanotsavam' in April/May. Legend has it that the Ugra form of Narasimha as he killed the demon Hiranyakashipu was so fierce that the image is kept covered by sandal paste throughout the year. The temple is one of the eighteen Narasimha Kshetras in India. The artwork here has elements of similarity with that of Konark. Elephants, flowers and plants are portrayed in the carvings. The outer walls of the sanctum depict images of a royal personality (said to be King Narasimha) in various postures. This temple also boasts of a beautiful stone chariot drawn by horses. This is one of the richest temples in Andhra Pradesh. Millions of devotees from around the country visit this temple every year especially during the Chandanotsavam Festival Season. On the annual ritual Chandanotsavam day, the Lord is covered with a new fresh layer of Sandalwood.

The Borra Caves are situated 29kms from the Araku Valley, near Vishakhapatnam and are acknowledged for their highly beautiful stalactite and stalagmite formations. In 1807, William King George discovered the Borra Caves and assumed them to be a million years old.
